What is SGA?
ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ’s Student Government Association is an organization that represents the concerns and ideas of the student body. The purpose of SGA is to represent, lead, and unify. Student Government aids the College in its mission of education, makes recommendations to the administration of the College regarding student issues and concerns, and encourages enthusiastic school support. SGA is not a club; it is for all students. SGA members are students who are elected each fall and spring to be responsive to the needs and wishes of the ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ student body.
How do I get involved in SGA?
All students who maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or above can be members of SGA. Students who would like to hold an office (be on the Executive Board) can fill out an application and run for office. Students who cannot commit the time to be an officer in SGA but still want to be involved should still come to the meetings or stop by to see one of the SGA advisors. Students who choose not to participate in SGA are encouraged to voice their opinions or concerns with one of the executive board members or through the .
When and where does SGA meet?
The SGA meets monthly alternating between campuses.
What does SGA do?
The SGA provides a means for communication between the student body and College administration and faculty, fosters leadership and responsibility among students, promotes academic achievement, strengthens the College, improves the community through community service projects, and plans and executes all student activities on campus.
